This unit has features that fall between the Basic and Advanced Temp Controllers.  This unit, as with the TC-AC, is microprocessor-based which provides for extreme sensitivity and reliability but with the simplicity of the basic controller.  This unit features two jumper selectable setpoints for automated control of the fans.  The first setting for closet applications turns the fans on at 80 degrees F and off at 77F with full speed achieved at 100F.  The second setting, which is appropriate for cabinet applications, turns the fans on at 88F and off at 85F with full speed achieved at 105F.

 

For the variable speed feature, the fan speed increases in a linear progression until the fans reach full speed.

 

The on and off setpoints can also be manipulated by the positioning of the unit.  If the controller is placed closer to the heat source (amp or receiver) it will obviously reach the setpoint quicker.  Further away and it will not be as sensitive.  Placement of the unit can vary depending on the particular application; however the best results are achieved through the recommended placement being directly in the airflow path of the fan unit.

 

This unit provides automated on and off control as well as variable speed control based on temperature.  So as the temperature rises, the fans turn on and speed up as the temp rises.  Then as the system cools down, the fans slow down and ultimately turn off when the temperature drops below the setpoint which is determined by the different modes.

Operating Modes

Setpoints are easily changed by locating the jumper on the unit to the L (Low) or H (High) position on the unit.

• Low Setpoint - On at 80⁰F and off at 77⁰F
• High Setpoint - On at 88⁰F and off at 85⁰F
