Basic Airflow and Easy to Install
Provides basic airflow which often times is all a system requires
The Cabinet and Slim Vents are ideal for less demanding ventilation of cabinets and enclosures. The units are self contained so there is no tubing or other multi-part contraptions to deal with. The units feature top-quality magnetic bearing fans for low noise and long life (ball bearing fans get louder as time goes on). It can be configured to pull air out of a cabinet (default and recommended configuration) or push air into the cabinet by easily reversing the fan. The units are very easily installed and are powered with DC voltage and when used with our Universal Power Supplies, can be run silently or more aggressively depending on the application.
A general rule of thumb is that if there's more than one major heat producing component in a cabinet or enclosure, a HiFlo Lite (VS-HFL-PRO) should be utilized. This includes: computers, AV amps, media servers, DVRs, game consoles, some blu-ray players, etc.
The difference between the Cabinet Vent and the Slim Vent is the CV provides deeper into a cabinet at 3" in depth. The Slim Vent only protrudes into the cabinet approximately 1". The Slim Vent moves slightly less air and in general, the area around the fan should be free from obstructions so in most cases the Cabinet Vent should be used. We however realize that in some cases there simply is not enough space and one perfect example of where the Slim Vent works perfectly is in the door of structured wiring panels.
