Compared to the other Component Units, this unit is mid-depth, not full depth like the other units, with means you cannot place larger components on top of the unit, this would more likely be used on top of an amplifier or receiver. The other component units feature 92mm fans while this unit features Dual 120mm fans. The fans still utilize the magnetic bearing system which is superior to ball bearing fans which just get louder as time goes on. The magnetic bearings are simply a newer and far superior technology.
The integrated display and controller displays the temperature and can be programmed to turn the fans on and off (it is not variable speed). The sensor can by mounted remotely so you're not just monitoring the temperature below, or in the front of the unit which does not provide an accurate reading of the equipment.
