This unit is ideal for moderate venting of cabinets and enclosures. It is self contained and features a large top-quality brushless fan for higher airflow, low noise, and long life.

The fan unit can be configured to pull air out of a cabinet (default configuration), or push air into the cabinet depending on the application. The fans are mounted using a special silicone fan mounts which eliminates noise caused by fan vibration and also facilitates easily changing the direction of the airflow. The unit is powered with DC voltage and when used with our Universal Power Supplies or a variable speed temperature controller (TC-ALT/ASC) it can be run completely silent or more aggressively depending on the application.

Harsh Environment Option. This unit is also available with a fan engineered with an industry leading IP68 rating for harsh environments which is ideal for outside, wet, humid or especially dirty and dusty areas. The units are also effective in high altitudes and in extreme temperatures. It should be noted that harsh environment does not mean better quality or longevity, just enhanced engineering and production to protect against these environmental situations. In practical terms this means that unless truly require the added protection, there is no reason to purchase harsh environment fans.

Q: Will this fan replace my cool compnents fan that is 41/2 in x 5in and has an oake magnetic cover ?

A: Hi John and thanks for reaching out! One BIG advantage of our products is the simplicity of the design and this was intentional. What this provides for is you can simply replace the fan versus buying a whole new unit. We know our products are a tad bit expensive which the reason is an entirely different discussion but the offsetting factor is most of our products are intended to be lifetime products meaning you can simply replace the fan/s and have a like new product again. This is also why we typically don't have built-in controllers so you can service or replace exactly what has stopped working versus throwing everything away and starting over.

So what you need is the RF-92 and I would also recommend getting a new power supply as well, the PS-1000 but that's up to you. Usually the power supplies die before the fans so if still have the original it could be on borrowed time.

To replace the fan, start with pulling from one corner until the fan mount 'releases' and then work your way around. When installing the new fan just ensure the airflow is in the right direction which there's an arrow on the side of the fan as an indicator.

Now to more directly answer your question, yes, this would be the same product you have if did want to simply replace the entire unit or add another.
