For Moderate to Aggressive Cooling in Various Applications - Racks, Cabinets, Recessed TVs...

This unit is ideal for a variety of applications that require aggressive but quiet cooling. The angled design is to both save space and in doing so, create a unique air flow. It saves space because in rack applications we're aggressively cooling using 1U of space where other products moving the same amount of air would require at least 2Us. The compact design also allows for it to be installed in the back of cabinets, behind TVs... The angle also creates a nice sweeping affect with the airflow where if installing in the back of a cabinet or behind a TV, the air can pull the air from within the space (behind the components in a cabinet) and 'sweep' it over the top and towards the front. In rack applications the angle, and easy of reversing fans, allows for blowing air upward or downward, into the rack or exhaust out... It features six top quality magnetic bearing fans that are mounted using silicone fan mounts which eliminates noise caused by normal fan vibrations. The unit operates on DC voltage and by adjusting the voltage, it can be run silently or more aggressively depending on the application.

Optional Cover for Unit - This is to enclose the top of the unit so air is completely 'channeled' through the front of the unit. The most appropriate application would be for racks where the unit is primarily being used to exhaust hot air. The unit may need to be run at a lower speed with the cover installed as noise level may increase.

Being such a truly universal product, it's impossible to cover all installation scenarios so it's just important to understand the core function of the unit and it's design. Rack Applications. Of course requires 1U of space and is perfect for above heat producing components which are required to have an open 2 or 3 spaces above them. This can be used if simply do not have more than 1U of space. Can be used with the vented faceplate. The main considerations with installation is if will be using it to exhaust or as an intake, typically we'd recommend exhausting hot air versus simply turning the rack into a convection oven! Then if wish to have air drawn or blown upward or downward is that unit can be installed in either position. If necessary, the fans can be reversed by simply flipping the fans. The easiest way to remove a fan is to start at one corner and pull the corner until the fan releases, do not simply try to snatch the fan off all at once. It should also be noted that the unit can also be installed on the back rails of a 4 post rack.

Cabinet Installations. The main application with cabinets is if it is open cabinetry or the doors have a fabric face... In these situation the unit when installed in the back of the cabinet has a perfect sweeping action.

Recessed TV Installations. This is again about the sweeping action so it would be mounted high behind a TV so it will sweep the air from behind the TV over the top of the TV. It can simply be screwed to the wall.

Control. We recommend some level of control, be it basic on/off control using the Basic Controller (TC-BSC-88/100) or the Advanced LT controller that has on/off and variable speed control (TC-ALT), or the 'bells and whistles' controller, the Advanced System Controllers (TC-ASC)
